Washington Post: Palin Unfit for Office, Pregnancy Problem, Too Many Kids

Sally Quinn says Palin must take care of her sick child when the 3am call happens

Editors published 9/2/2008 3:23:00 PM
Most egregious sexist claims made by the Washington Post
Is she prepared for the all-consuming nature of the job? She is the mother of five children, one of them a four-month-old with Down Syndrome. Her first priority has to be her children. When the phone rings at three in the morning and one of her children is really sick what choice will she make? This would inevitably be an enormous distraction for a new vice president (or president) in a time of global turmoil.
Ms. Quinn claims that "evangelicals" will reject Palin because she may not have been "enough of a hands on mother"
And now we learn the 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant. She and the father of the child plan to marry. This may be a hard one for the Republican conservative family-values crowd to swallow. Of course, this can happen in any family. But it must certainly raise the question among the evangelical base about whether Sarah Palin has been enough of a hands-on mother.
Again evangelicals will only vote for Palin if they "vote against their conscience"
Evangelical women also will have to decide if they will vote against their conscience by voting to put the mother of young children in a job outside the home that will demand so much of her time and energy.
Where was the Washington Post when John Edwards was running for the Leader of the Free World when his wife had terminal cancer? Would they ponder what his choice would be at 3am? His wife or saving the country?

I think Nancy Pelosi has five kids and several grandkids.

Has the Washington Post ever asked this of a single male candidate? Why would they ask this now?

It's a double standard: Clinton was never held for all his womanizing in the White House (he was still shown to be completely devoted to his job) and Palin has proven that she can govern a state without letting her kids get in her way at all. She has said she is a family woman and left liberals hate this because they hate God, family values, and any morals that come from God.

Hmmm could this be somewhat of a sour grapes issue. Sally Quinn has a child that was born with a problem. Her taking care of children might be a little skewed to say the least. Her writings are so biased as to be unbelievable.

Quinn is married to Benjamin C. Bradlee, the former editor of the Washington Post, her former boss. Quinn and Bradlee have one child, [Josiah] Quinn Crowninshield Bradlee who was born in 1982 when she was 41. They have acknowledged that he was born with velo-cardio-facial syndrome, and Quinn wrote of her son's learning problems and attendance at special schools in her 2006 article "What My Son Taught Me About God."
What did your son teach you about god? Please respond for us.

What the mainstream (and some not-so-mainstream) media intentionally fails to understand is that Governor Palin has a supportive husband, parents, a sibling - a whole support group to help. Did the Washington Post ask Senator Biden to stay home and take care of his sons after his wife and daughter were tragically killed in an automobile accident? Or did they make him out to be a hero because he was sworn in at his son's bedside?

Quinn has no idea of life.
I have 7 children. At one time 4 in the house while deployed to places Quinn only hears about....and no, the sand we play in isn't in Hawaii. How did I accomplish the highest rank possible and still raise my children. God, high values, stern morals and a spouse that knows commitment. and yes...we have taken many a call at 3 a.m.
Like all arguments from the Dems...this one is stupid and a reflection of "what thier itching ears want to hear".
